The Last Hoorah…
Cap + Gown Group sessions with my SMT are always so bittersweet! It’s SUCH an emotional time when the parents see their seniors in their graduation gear for the first time… the buzz of excitement is tangible with the seniors as well! Their choice of black dress is such a personality decision and I love seeing what they come up with for under their graduation gown, and for their “little black dress” pictures too!
This year’s Cap + Gown group session had so many participants that I split it into two sessions, which is why you see big sets of two different groups. I’ve done these at a parking garage for the past couple of years, and I love the urban vibe it has. So many of my seniors choose a more rustic setting for their individual session, so this gives them a drastic contrast of backgrounds in their gallery from the whole year.
Chatting with these girls about their college choices, career goals and senior year accomplishments brings my heart so much happiness! And watching friends who have grown up together recreate images from k-5 graduation, take selfies in their graduation garb and talk about their memories from years gone by is something that I can’t plan for, but naturally happens anyway!
“Cap and Gown” wraps up our SMT Season together and I couldn’t be MORE proud of how this group handled their senior year… during a pandemic… when nothing was how they thought it would be. In fact… I’m so impressed by them, that I wrote a whole blog post about it — HERE.
