When planning a wedding, there seem to be a lot of “norms” or “rules” that need to be adhered to… but if I’m honest, the couples who are the truest to who they are as a couple (throwing some of these ‘rules’ out the window) are the ones who have the most enjoyable time. Alex and Collin were the most relaxed couple, following the wedding traditions that felt comfortable to them, and tossing the awkward ones to the side. Their tightest family members were there, as were some very close friends — and while there wasn’t an official bridal party, there were moments of photos with those who were important to them.
Alex was so stunning in her boutique wedding gown — complete with pale gray accents and a floor length veil. Her dress was such a nod to the romantic vibe of the whole wedding — lush florals, draped fabric blowing gently in the breeze at the ceremony, and twinkle lights throughout the venue. Their post-ceremony portraits were kept close to the lodge, while we snuck away at sunset for about 20 minutes of sunset portraits at the dock. I love how different the light is for both sets of images — adds a lot of variety to their gallery! The newlyweds ended the evening with dancing, sparklers and a surprise fireworks show! The weather was absolutely perfect, the company was in good spirits, and the couple was focused on each other — such a perfect spring evening wedding.
