The first meeting of PSWS was an absolute dream. This idea has been on my heart for a while and I’m so thrilled that it became a reality. Middle school girls come up against a plethora of obstacles and sometimes it’s hard for us as “Mom” to offer advice – the PSWS is designed to give the girls some life skills throughout the set of classes!
We kicked off the first PSWS with a lesson guided by Mrs. Casey Horne, a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor — she focused on gaining self confidence + realizing self worth. Casey has a ton of experience working with groups of teenage girls within the realm of Christian therapy and shines His light with her positivity and humor, which made her the perfect fit! After our lesson, we headed into the studio for our first round of portraits. The theme of this month’s lesson was “Natural”, so we stuck with neutral outfits, props and backgrounds.
This five part workshop is design to introduce confidence, poise, and personal style into each participant while showing them how to express themselves in front of the camera. Lindsay Colson is a senior + teen photographer that focuses on the whole experience. She works with each client to create a customized session. Setting up each girl to look + feel pampered and to be 100% comfortable before and during the session is a vibe that Lindsay takes very seriously.
