Tara was my first session after I came back from the SnapShot Senior Photography Conference in California. And I had some big plans. Although Tara isn’t really a “girly girl”, I was able to convince her to wear this outfit for the first bit of her session before we headed to our family’s farm for her “real” session. Did I mention that Tara is my cousin? 😉 We had a lot of fun with this part of her session, trying out some new lighting techniques, and playing around with a seriously out-of-the-box outfit. After this, we cruised over to the farm and then her session really started.
Tara’s outfits for the farm were much more subdued than a hot pink prom dress and a leather jacket. I loved the soft colors she chose and I also loved that she had both casual and dressy mixed into wardrobe selection. Tara brought along her letterman jacket and a pair of jeans and tank as well — this is always a little extra bonus that all of my seniors get — this doesn’t count against your “outfit number” in your collection. Letterman jackets are always a great prop to bring to your session — it’s such a super iconic memento of your high school days and shows off your accomplishments.
I loved wandering the farm with Tara and her mom, Maria. It was so nice to see her in her element, and really focus on her for a little while. We have a big family and one-on-one time with cousins is less common than it should be. I’m so proud of Tara and cannot wait to see what big beautiful things she does with her future!
