Meet Sage! I am so thankful that this sweet girl is on the SMT this year! She is so fun to be around! In the fall, she’s kept pretty busy with cheering for her Wildcats during football season. Year round she’s participating in activities with Sigma Delta Theta and her youth group at STIR. Sage is just a breath of fresh air and was a delightful part of the SMT! She chose a special family homeplace for her senior portrait location, and I think it was just the most perfect fit! We started off at the lake house, then moved down the moss covered path and ended up at Ocean Pond, which is just so perfectly southern!
When I saw Sage’s SMT application come up last spring, I realized that her dad owns Spirit and which is where I worked during my college days! I was thrilled that we had that connection and was glad to see her parents and to get to know her mom, Jennifer through this experience. Jennifer is such a cheerleader and encourager and I’m so thankful for the friendships I get to make with the seniors AND the moms every year!
Sage and I spent a lot of adventurous times together this school year — check out the Driftwood Beach, Piedmont ParkandProvidence Canyon group session posts! During our first group shoot, I was emphasising to the moms that they were more than welcome to take BTS pics. I said that these are their memories too… something that Jennifer (Sage’s mom) said really stood out to me — she said, “Thank you, I’m just not sure how many memories we will get to have this year”. And while this year has certainly been full of changes and dashed expectations, I’m so glad that I was able to offer something to these seniors and their parents to help celebrate this season of their life! The Senior Model Team is so much more than just pretty pictures.
