This is Sage — and this girl is all kinds of fun! She’s got a cool vibe and style that I could only WISH to have when I was in middle school. She’s beautiful (that curly hair!) and talented in tons of ways (athletic AND artistic!). I loved having her in front of my camera for this session. Sage chose a boho top and jeans for the start of the shoot, which is more dressy for her. Then when we went into a more urban area, she got comfy in something more her style — ripped jeans, black tee and converses! I’m so glad that we were able to have so much diversity in her session to show off the different sides of her free-spirit-self!
Portrait sessions do not have to be stuffy and forced, they can be fun and relaxed! Let her show off her style! Any and all age appropriate outfits are encouraged during teen sessions! You want to take her shopping to add to this experience — go for it! She wants to wear her ripped jeans or overalls — sure! She loved her middle school dance dress and wants to have more photos in it — absolutely! She wants to add in those favorite pair of grungy tennis shoes — sounds fun! Does she HAVE to have on her favorite hoodie? Bring it on! Let her wear it!
Does it show off who she is in this moment? Then yes, wear it! Get on the books for her session and then start planning out those outfits!
